How to get more Google reviews for your business

    Last updated October 16, 2026

The fastest way to get more Google reviews is to ask every customer, right after the job, with a direct link to your review form. Most happy customers will leave one if it takes under a minute. Here's how to make that happen every time.

    1. Ask right after the job

Ask while the result is fresh: when the AC is blowing cold again or the leak is fixed. A request that shows up days later gets ignored.

    2. Send a direct review link

In your Google Business Profile, use Ask for reviews to copy your review link. A direct link skips the search and opens the review box on the first tap.

    3. Ask by text, not email

Customers read texts. Emails get buried. A short text with the link is the easiest thing to say yes to.

    4. Keep the message short

Here is a text that works:

    Hi {name}, thanks for choosing {business} today. Would you leave us a quick Google review? It really helps: {link}

    5. Follow up once

If they don't leave one, send a single reminder two or three days later. Then stop.

    6. Reply to every review

Thank good reviews by name. Answer bad ones calmly, offer to make it right and take the details offline. Future customers read your replies.

    7. Don't buy, bribe or filter reviews

Google's policies prohibit fake reviews, paying or offering discounts for reviews, and only asking customers you expect to be happy. Ask everyone the same way.

    8. Automate it

Repify sends the review request automatically when a job is marked complete, with one follow-up, so it happens after every job without anyone remembering to ask.

    Questions

How many Google reviews do I need?

There's no magic number. What matters is a steady flow of recent reviews and a strong rating compared to the businesses you compete with nearby.

Can I offer a discount for a review?

No. Google prohibits offering incentives for reviews, and it can get reviews removed.
